How Ordering Works

Grubbian supports two types of orders, depending on how each restaurant prefers to operate.

Deposit Only (Table Booking)

Secure your table by placing a small deposit when booking. The deposit is fully redeemable once you arrive at the restaurant and dine. You'll order your meals at the restaurant, the traditional way.

Meal Pre-orders

Some restaurants allow you to pre-order your meals when booking your table. After selecting your date and time, you'll be asked whether you'd like to pre-order or simply reserve a table and order on arrival — the choice is always yours.

You can easily see whether a restaurant allows meal pre-ordering by viewing their profile in the app.

Yes, downloading and booking through the app is free for users.

No. Even if a restaurant allows meal pre-orders, you can choose to order at the restaurant instead.

Deposits are redeemable when you show up for your booking and dine at the restaurant.

You can get it on the Play Store using the download button on this page.

Restaurants can partner with us by signing up via the app.

No. You do not pay when you submit a new order. Payment is only required after the restaurant receives, reviews, and accepts your order.

Open your Orders page to track every order status. Each status is color-coded for quick visibility: Accepted orders appear in green, while Rejected orders appear in gray.

Your order will expire automatically, and you will not be charged. Restaurants are notified as soon as you place an order, but if there is a delay, you can follow up using the restaurant phone number provided.

You can cancel at no charge while your order status is Pending or Accepted.

Once accepted, a Confirm button appears next to that order in your order history. Tap it to pay via M-Pesa or card.
